I recommend using only Olympic barbells (the outer ends are 50 mm in diameter, while the grip section is 28 mm in diameter). For all arm exercises I prefer to use EZ-bars because they allow a much more natural grip for the wrists, which provides extra strength during the exercise and keeps the wrists free from injuries. For squat and bench press exercises you obvious need straight bars. Spring collars are much easier and faster to place and remove than the classic screw collars.
